Rock Climbing

Shongweni offers some exciting routes ranging from grade 8 to 33, including some of the best sport climbing in the world. If you are learning to climb or among the world's best there is climbing at Shongweni for you!

Abseiling

Spirit of Adventure will take you Abseiling anywhere you want to, BUT we do have two favourites - Howick Falls & the Shongweni Dam & Game Reserve

Assault Course

Come and compete against friends or family in the physically demanding Assault Course. Go as fast as you can through a series of obstacles with the support of your team mates. Set a new record ... if you can!

Guided Mountain Bike Rides

The Mountain bike safari in the Shongweni Game Reserve is not for the extreme mountain biker, but rather an opportunity to ride through the reserve with the aim of spotting game with a guide. Perfect as an outing for the family, a kids day out or an adventurous day with friends.

White Water Rafting

Situated 95km from Durban and 65km from Pietermaritzburg the Mkomazi River provides a challenging & fun environment for both the first timer and the seasoned river rat. The Mkomazi River boasts some of the best rapids to be found in South Africa, so come & test the waters!

Game Walks & Game Drives

Choose to walk or take a seat in an open vehicle as you explore what the Shongweni Dam & Game Reserve has to offer. Keep your eye open for Rhino, Giraffe, Buffalo, a variety of antelope and even the dung beetle. If you are an avid bird watcher this Reserve boasts a vast number of bird species including the African Finfoot, Narina Trogan, African Fish Eagle and many more!

Raft Building

Perfect for a family event with a bit of competition - build your own raft and see who outlasts the other & crosses the finish line first. Full of fun and laughs as you race across the Dam hoping that what you & your team built lasts.

Canoe Journey

A perfect trip for the novice or someone who wants to see the dam from a different angle. Paddle around the dam exploring rock faces and venturing up River. If you are up to it stop and do some rock jumping to get the adrenalin going.

Needing to get away from tarred city roads to get some dirt on your cab? Then come and put your 4x4 to the test.

Salsa

Salsa, meringue and even a little line dancing for Corporate Team Building, or a lively break between conference sessions. Get your colleagues energized with electrifying Latin American dancing, even for those with two left feet! It teaches team and partner work, leading, following, confidence, co-ordination, posture, control and more than anything, how to have fun and show off some impressive moves. We will come to your company or your corporate event and along with a demonstration of this enlivening dance, we will teach your colleagues the same skills, throwing in some inspiring moves, dips and spins.
